Co-founded in 2019 by our Creative Director, Jane Alice Liu, FoodUnfolded® was a multi-media magazine that connected people to the origins and sustainability of their food. Its content was driven by science and technology, collaborative initiatives, creative imagination and media experimentation.

The FoodUnfolded® community aimed to bridge the gap between all groups in the food chain, creating a dialogue around how we can all create a better future for food. The platform was funded by the European Union.

what we did

After its founding in 2019, TRF Studio led the brand direction, editorial strategy and production. Bringing together its network of talented visual designers, editors and science journalists, TRF helped craft the legacy of FoodUnfolded as one of the first food & agri-sustainability content communities of its time.

We organized offline community-building events, established collaborations with European start-ups, government institutions like the United Nations, and non-profits like WWF and IDH Sustainable Trade, and created weekly editorial content published on the FoodUnfolded website and social media channels.

Throughout our time with FoodUnfolded, the magazine amassed a following of over 150k, 1.7 million video views, 1+ million annual website visitors.
