In 2023, Europe erupted in a series of protests by farmers from across the union. Farmers protested against low food prices, environmental regulations, and trade with non-EU states. These protests left a bad impression on public perception, particularly in left-leaning urban cities.
In response, our production team pitched an idea to bridge the polarising reactions: a short video series, "Conversations with Young Farmers", featuring conversations between young farmers from Noord-Brabant (The Netherlands) and other voices, from WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) and older generations of farmers.
Our Founder and Creative Director, Jane Alice Liu developed the concept of the series. We served as the series' film production team. From research to publication, we helped devise thought-provoking questions that would be exchanged on camera, and ensured an honest edit to reflect the voices on screen.
The films were distributed online, amassing over 105,000 views, and screened at FoodUnfolded's offline event 'Landbouw in Nederland. What's Next?'.
